Mixed Media ATC Cards – Movie Night Theme

This ATC pair was created as a - Elizabeth Craft Designs - design team project.
A little movie night inspiration in ATC form.
Playing with colour, texture and fun details using the Elizabeth Craft Designs - Movie Night ATC Special - kit.
Materials used
Elizabeth Craft Designs Movie Night ATC Special -kit
ECD Soft Finish Cardstock / heavy cardstock
Acrylic paint
Distress Spritz

Process
I started by creating the background on a full sheet using ECD Soft Finish Cardstock. I mixed the acrylic paints, adjusting the brightness and depth of the colours as I went.

To build texture, I used stencils along with a few intuitive marks — including printing with an empty tape roll and a handmade tool.
Once the background was dry, I cut it into ATC-sized pieces using the dies from the Special Kit. I then layered the elements from the kit on top, keeping the focal details mostly in black and white to balance the colourful background.
To finish, I added white paint splatters and a few Distress Spritz splashes for extra brightness and interest.

Final Thoughts
Creating one background and turning it into multiple ATC cards is a great way to keep things cohesive while still getting variation. Keeping the elements simple allowed the colours and textures to really stand out.
